FLAVOR ANALYSIS

Parmesan’s savory flavor provides a nice balance to varietals with high tannins, such as Syrah and Nebbiolo. Notice its nuttiness draws out the nut in Sangiovese as well as the pleasurable undertones of cocoa and vanilla commonly found in Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Pairing this with Pinot Grigio really draws out the parmesan flavor of the Wine Snack. With sparkling wines, the savory flavor of the parmesan will cut any excess acid, while maintaining the delicate flavor notes and effervescence we all love. If you’re a fan of cheese and herb flavor (think Chevre or Caesar Salad), then you will find this especially present alongside a Sauvignon Blanc.

True Parmigiano Reggiano® cheese is made in Parma, Italy and owes its lovely flavor to longer periods of aging (just like wine!). In fact, as the cheese ages it develops flavors of melted butter, fresh fruit, walnuts, hazelnuts and even nutmeg. All of the Parmigiano Reggiano® used in this Tasting Stick is aged at least 12 months!
